attaching the broken front half of the broken ski to the battleship after removing the skates proved enjoyable, so i decided to reach beyond myself and add a layer of carpet for traction
it still needed something, and i found it with the corner of the lunch tray
my classmate raymond had a skateboard that had like a lever on the back he could step back on to turn easier

so it is like 4 years after i started this blog post and jake has passed away and i am going to add some things i didn't want to say earlier
joe was walking up the hill and heard when jake asked me why i was better at riding the ski board than joe, and i felt a sinking feeling because joe was very competitive and tho he was two years younger than me or his brother, he always tried to beat us at sports and often did, so when jake said that i knew joe was going to be really pissed
then, and i didn't want to say this because i really didn't want to hurt jake's feelings if i did...well, probably the people who knew jake would agree...the real reason we have snowboarding now at almost every ski resort in the world was because jake was a new yorker
i knew jake was from new york when i was talking to him - he didn't have an accent - because at the time new yorkers were famous for being...well i guess i should just come out and say it: - pushy !!! - which in this case was exactly what was needed to create and share the really exhilarating sport of snowboarding
he kept wanting to come to dad's house to talk with him and i had to tell him 'no' 2 or 3 times before he let it go
if you want to know why, i had to say the same to barb, tho i really wanted her and liked her
joe will remember the fight we had that day because it was the first time - i was 2 years older than joe - he ever got the better of me so i know he remembers - that - anyway ! 😄
